vmrs in japan
The big legend himself and head honcho over at Ampal Creative, Andrew Potash (above left) was out at VMRS in Japan at the weekend and he fired over some goodies for the blog. Enjoy.

VMRS went down today and it sure was a good one. Hawgholic, love hunter garage & licks cafe came together to put on the premier vintage motorcycle swap meet & bike show in Shonan. Since you can’t ride in to Mooneyes anymore VMRS has filled the void for Japan’s best choppers, custom & stock bikes to ride in n get together. The parking area was reminiscent of the old Mooneyes parking lot, filled with amazing bikes you’ve seen online & others never seen on the socials coming out from all corners of Japan.
The swap was equally top notch. The lineups of flanders bars/risers, crusty molded chopper tanks, OP tank sets, bates etc would rival any amca swap… at a price of course. Taking a card from the US scene there was genny shovel raffle bike that ended up going home with Upsweep magazine.
The Ampal pick was by No. 455 Garage out of Niigata, a curtsy bt Flatty done in a truly Japanese take on beloved American chopper style - katana sissy bar, a molded Hanya tank & temple style shifter. Mag fired w/Indian girder 21” f/18”r, Fugle style seat, ribbed wassell fender… ichiban chopper gold. Seeing great bikes & great friends + great parts for sale, VMRS is definitely one to put on the calendar for next year.
